Greetings and Happy New Year. I am looking for a photo or any imformation about the canoe liverys that were at the fair. Fair goers in canoes. I have a canoe from the fair it is orange and blue and was stored 70 years by a man who knew where it came from. I hope to restore it and would like a bit of documantation about canoes availible for rental at the fair. Thank you Rob

A different shot indeed! They clearly took their time setting this shot up. And those aren't houses outside the fairgrounds - they're the homes in the Town of Tomorrow! This shot was probably taken around the UK pavilion on the opposite shore of the Lagoon of Nations.

Hello, I have a booklet with numbered photos of the construction on the Westinghouse exhibits. I really don't know anything about what the book was used for or if it was a novelty item sold in the gift shops. Any info you may have would be a help. Thank you, Kosta

I am a collector of 1939 WF stuff and recently came across an old magazine dated 1939. Titled "The Yachtsmen's Magazine, Motor Boating". In it is a story, pictures, and maps relating to how boat owners can get to the fair. The story is titled "Your cruise to the New York World's Fair, by Edward F. Kenny, editor The Flushing meadow improvement. Is this of any interest to the library?

I visited the fair as a child and have a few artifacts from that visit which prompted me to start collecting.

I want to thank you for your excellent in depth sites on the 1939 New York World's Fair. I linked to them in my most recent "Old Postcard Wednesday" post, this one with a scene from the theme area of the Fair. Your information was invaluable to me in preparing this post.

Ironically, although I a longtime Oregon resident, I was born in Reno and lived in Sparks (on Gault Way) for some years while attending UNR. Give a nod to the mountains for me!

Hello. I need the actual street location of the Flushing gate to the fair. It is close to the USSR exhibit, at (roughly) the eastern limit, which was called Lawrence St. (now called College Point Blvd.), but I am not sure of that, and I need also the nearest cross street. Thank You.

I am researching into the 1940 World's Fair and would like to know if anyone has any records, photos etc. of Jacob Epstein's Adam which I understand was exhibited at the 1940 World's Fair. Any information you have at all would be gratefully received. My enquiry is from Harewood House, Harewood, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England LS17 9LG. We are holding an exhbiition on Jacob Epstein in April.
